Size guide
How big is each dragon, really?
Product photos are shot close-up and a 9 cm dinosaur can look like a desk statue. These are the exact numbers, so you can measure your shelf before you order.
The full size table
| Family | Size | Measured | For comparison |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flying dragons | 11 cm | nose to tail tip, wings open | about the length of a toothbrush |
| Standing dinosaurs | 9 cm | foot to top of head, standing | a touch shorter than a credit card is long |
| Orb dragons | 9 cm | across, curled | a baseball is 7.3 cm — noticeably bigger |
| Mama Stegosaurus | 7.8 cm | standing | between the two above |
| Baby Stegosaurus | 5.8 cm | standing | a little taller than an AA battery |
Every product page repeats the exact figure for that design, because the families vary: eleven flying dragons all share the same 11 cm body, but the standing range has both a 9 cm standard and the two smaller stegosaurus sizes.
Where each size actually fits
The standing dinosaurs were designed around one constraint: a standard IKEA-style shelf with 25 cm between boards holds two rows of them with room to re-pose. A monitor stand with 10 cm of clearance holds a standing dinosaur or an orb dragon at the front edge. The flying dragons are the flexible ones — they lie flat, drape over an edge, or curl around a plant pot, so their 11 cm length is the only number that matters.
If you are buying for a display case, measure the vertical gap, not the shelf depth. The standing designs need the most headroom; the orb dragons need the least.
Scale is honest, weight is light
Everything is printed in PLA at solid infill in the joint areas, so each piece is light enough that shelf adhesives are unnecessary — they sit under their own weight. That also means they are display pieces, not desk stress toys: the same low weight that makes them shelf-friendly makes a thrown one a broken one.
One environmental note applies to the whole catalogue: PLA softens around 60 °C. A windowsill in direct summer sun or a car dashboard is enough to distort any size on this page. Indoors at room temperature, size and pose hold indefinitely.
Size questions
How big is an articulated flying dragon?
11 cm from nose to tail tip with the wings open — about the length of a toothbrush laid flat.
Are the standing dinosaurs taller than they are long?
They are 9 cm tall from foot to the top of the head or plates, measured standing. The width depends on the design — ankylosaurus is the widest at around the same figure.
What is the difference between the mama and baby stegosaurus?
The mama is 7.8 cm and the baby is 5.8 cm. They are two separate designs, not one product in two sizes, and they are sold together as the Stego Family Duo.
Will they fit inside a standard display case?
Any shelf with 10 cm or more of vertical clearance holds every standing and orb design. Flying dragons are 11 cm long but low-profile, so a shelf with 6 cm of clearance works if they lie flat.
